November 20, 2009 Rob M. & Friends Brave the Rain, Cold, & Wind to Catch a Big Lake Bunch!!! It was a slow start with 20 MPH winds and a steady heavy drizzle but persistace paid off. Gulp under a cork was the best bait to fill the cooler. As the day progressed the fishing improved and at 2 PM we had to leave the birds flying and the fish biting! I was not surprised when Rob & Friends started wacking them since they are card carrying semi-professional fisherman!! Great job guys!!!!!

November 13, 2009 George G. Makes his 10th Trip with Captain Tom and Catches The Big One!!!! George brought a brand new Rod n Reel and wanted to break it in but never thought his first trout of the day would be a 7 pound beauty. George thought he had a big red but when it got near the boat both our hearts jumped to see it was a monster Trout! Just a few minutes before my first fish of the day was a 6pound 4oz Trout and we were off to the dream fishing day. Both fish were caught on Berkley Gulp 4″ Swimming Mullet Pearl White under a Cajun Thunder Popping Cork! By 10 am we had 30 fish in the boat and George said uncle and we called it an early incredible Day on Lake Calcasieu!!!!

November 11, 2009 John D. & Friends Larry, & Gerry Have the Cooler Overflowing By 9:45 AM!  The day was off to a flying start with a nice 3 pound trout to start the day. Soon the birds were singing my favorite song and we had Trout & Reds Flying into the boat! These guys were experienced fisherman and were whacking em on LSU grubs and Gulp on the bottom. At 9:45 we had a problem! The big cooler was overflowing with over 50 Trout and 10 Reds. The guys had to admitt in all their years of fishing this was the first time they had this problem. Never fear I had a spare cooler in the truck and soon we were back to fishing!

November 7, 2009 Randy & Gene from Houston woke to find 25 to 30 mph winds from the storm in the gulf  Captain Tom knew it would be a challanging day. The Lake looked like the chocolate ocean and we soon decided that trout were not in the cards today so we headed south to the marsh on the west side and hid a bit from the wind and using Curely tail Berkley Swimming Mullet under a cork we started catching Nice 3 to 7 pound Reds. These fish were expolsive in the 1 to 2 foot water. The storm in the gulf was to blame for the high winds but also gave us a tide about a foot above normal and allowed us and the fish to get way back in the marsh.
